At the Dawn of Christian Democracy in Sicily: the Figure of Giacinto Artale

Abstract

This essay reconstructs the biographical and political trajectory of Giacinto Artale, a promi-nent member of the Christian Democracy party in the Messina area. By analysing his journey from legal training in Genoa to post-war welfare roles in Ficarra, the author outlines his 1948 election to Parliament. Finally, it examines his subsequent distinguished career in administra-tive justice as a State Councillor.
